The Punjab Police have introduced the inaugural Lady Dolphin Squad in Faisalabad, marking a significant move towards empowering women in law enforcement. This new squad is tasked with tackling crime and boosting public safety. Members have received specialized training in operating 500cc heavy bikes and automatic weapons to effectively perform their duties.
The female commandos will work alongside their male counterparts. Following their training, 500 women will be equipped with 500cc heavy bikes and automatic weapons. They will have the authority to set up checkpoints and conduct snap checks on the roads.
Chief Police Officer Faisalabad says that, the Lady Dolphins will initially focus on patrolling locations frequented by women, including women’s universities and markets, to enhance communication and support in these areas.
