RTO Peshawar Seizes Illegal Cigarettes Worth Rs. 162 Million

The Regional Tax Office in Peshawar achieved its largest seizure of non-duty/non-TTS cigarettes in history. The Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) team confiscated 1,869 packs (18,690,000 sticks) of various brands.


During a raid at a godown in Yar Hussain, Swabi, the seized packets are estimated to have a market value of approximately Rs. 162.6 million.

Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Mir Badshah Khan Wazir have praised the Regional Tax Office in Peshawar for its accomplishment and prompt action.
