The Punjab government has lifted restrictions on teacher transfers and postings in government schools. Teachers can now submit transfer applications from August 12 to August 31. The School Education Department will review these applications by September 5, with appeals accepted from September 6 to 9. Transfer orders will be issued on September 19.
Under the new transfer policy introduced in May, teachers can apply for transfers year-round based on hardship criteria such as disability, widowhood, divorce, or long-distance issues. General and mutual transfers are allowed twice a year, while inter-district and wedlock transfers can be applied for throughout the year. All promotions must be completed within 30 days, and district committees are required to process applications within this period.
