The Punjab government has opted to enforce sanitation fees amounting to Rs. 300 for 5 marla residences and Rs. 500 for 10 marla houses. Meanwhile, in rural areas, charges will stand at Rs. 200 for houses up to 10 marlas and Rs. 500 for bigger properties.

For urban areas:

  • Rs. 300 for 5 marla houses
  • Rs. 500 for 10 marla houses

For rural regions:

  • Rs. 200 for 10 marla houses
  • Rs. 500 for houses larger than 10 marla

In a Lahore meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed a reduction of over 50% in the proposed sanitation charges. Additionally, she put a stop to the suggested rise in water charges for hydropower projects, expressing worries that elevated charges would escalate electricity expenses.
