Cabinet approved the signing of the agreement between Qatar and Pakistan Army for FIFA World Cup 2022.

Monday: The federal cabinet approved the signing of an agreement between the state of Qatar and the Pakistan Army for the provision of security to the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.

According to the cabinet summary, FIFA World Cup is being scheduled from November 21 to December 18, 2022, in Qatar and the government of Qatar has requested assistance from Pakistan Army in security-related matters for the event.

In order to validate security and management plans for FIFA World Cup 2022, the summary read, that the Joint Staff Headquarters (JSHQ) proposed the signing of the agreement.

The approval from the cabinet has come just as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is about to go on a visit to Qatar (scheduled for August 23 and 24) at the invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar.
