Minister of State for IT and Telecom, Shiza Fatima, spoke with journalists in Parliament, stating that there are no restrictions on social media in Pakistan, despite the prolonged Twitter ban that has been in place for months.

She avoided commenting on the question regarding the firewall to control social media. The minister noted that social media is operating well in Pakistan, attributing the ban on Twitter to their exceptionally liberal policies. She mentioned that discussions with Twitter are ongoing, while Facebook and TikTok remain Pakistan’s most used social platforms.

Minister of State for IT and Telecom, Shiza Fatima, addressed the Prime Minister’s orders to downsize the government, clarifying that the Ministry of IT and Telecom is not being abolished but downsized. She stated, “We will eliminate unnecessary organizations, and if needed, new ones will be established.”
