CCP Conducts Second-Phase Review Of Proposed PTCL-Telenor Merger

The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) is conducting thorough analysis, gathering detailed data, soliciting responses from market participants through comprehensive questionnaires, and seeking comments from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) regarding the proposed PTCL-Telenor Merger.

CCP will also assess the efficiencies asserted by the merging entities, ensuring they bring benefits to consumers.

CCP is presently in the midst of conducting a Phase II examination of the proposed acquisition of Telenor Pakistan by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). This pivotal assessment will ascertain the approval of the merger and any necessary conditions to uphold market competitiveness.
