After last night’s historic win of Punjab, the PTI Secretary General, Asad Umar’s Twitter account was hacked today morning (27th July).

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced through Twitter that Asad Umar’s account has been hacked and they are currently working with Twitter to get it recovered as soon as possible. PTI also asked the followers of the Secretary General to report an uncharacteristic tweet that may be made from him account.

While Asad Umar has 8.5 million followers on Twitter, this is not the first time that a PTI’s leader Twitter account has been hacked. Earlier this year, Twitter account as well as Apple ID and email of the former Energy Minister Hammad Azhar was hacked.

Asad Umar is an active member on different social media platforms and provided regular updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic when he was the Head of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).
