Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to launch next year but recently few videos of gameplay footage were leaked by a hacker online. The videos were shared on online GTA forums by someone with the username “teapotuberhacker”.
The hacker uploaded a file of 3 GB that had 90 videos of GTA 6 gameplay. The hacker claimed to be behind the Uber hack that occurred last week.
Gamers around the world are expecting GTA 6 to be the next big hit in the gaming industry after GTA V became the best-selling video game of all time breaking all the previous records. GTA V also became the best-selling entertainment product ever made so there is no doubt that the fans are waiting eagerly for the next part.
The video clips show a female player which aligns with reports from Bloomberg last year that said that GTA 6 would feature a female protagonist for the first time ever, influenced by the real-life criminal couple, Bonnie and Clyde.
The gameplay clip shows the female character Lucia robbing a diner and holding some people hostage. It is also believed that the game is running on RTX 3080 or Nvidia’s RTX 3060 Ti so the footage can easily be two years old. Although the clip is from an early development build of the game so the final version is still going to be a surprise and look better than this one.
Rockstar’s (GTA’s studio) parent company Take-Two Interactive has filed takedown requests for the leaked footage which further proves that the clips are authentic.
The hacker has also said that they will release more leaked data soon including GTA V and GTA VI source code, test builds, and assets.
