Apple has finally unveiled the long-awaited iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro and Apple Watch Series 8 Watch Ultra.
The company revealed four versions of the new handset at its Cupertino headquarters with Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Steve Jobs theatre, with an audience attending in person for the first time after the pandemic.
Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch Ultra:
Apple Watch Series 8 has several next-gen features, including car crash detection, temperature sensors for tracking ovulation cycles, and a 36-hours battery life with the new low-power mode borrowed from the iPhone.
Watch Ultra is swim-proof, dustproof, and crack resistant and promises enough power to complete an ultra-triathlon that includes swimming, cycling, and running.
Apple Watch Series 8 is priced from £419 in the UK and $399 in the US while the Apple Watch Ultra is priced from £849 in the UK and $799 in the US.
iPhone 14:
Apple introduced iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus with emergency satellite connectivity. The handsets are capable of sending emergency calls for help via satellite. The phones will display the whereabouts of passing satellites and demonstrate how to point the device at them.
It will take 15 seconds to a few minutes to send a basic message.
According to Apple, iPhone users took more than three trillion photos in the last 12 months and that’s why the tech-giant has introduced a new 12-megapixel camera, capable of taking photos of fast-moving subjects, and with a 49% improvement in capturing in low-light.
The iPhone 14 is priced from £849 in UK and $799 in US.
iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max:
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are designed differently with the top of the screen shaped in a pill-shaped cut-out.
Another massive change in these handsets is that they can always remain on. The screen dims and the refresh rate is lowered when the phone is not in use.
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max come in deep purple, black, silver, and gold colors.
The iPhone 14 Pro is priced at £1099 in the UK and $999 in the US
AirPods:
The AirPods will now be easier to track with a new feature for finding individual lost earphones which chimes when dropped outside of the case. Additionally, the AirPods case also has its own speaker, which will play a louder sound when prompted by the Find My app.
The new AirPods Pro are priced at £249 in the UK and $249 in the US.
