Finance Minister Urges Italian Investors To Invest In Pakistan’s IT, Agri Sectors

Today, Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan Marilina Armellin met with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division to discuss cooperation and longstanding relations between the two countries.

The minister highlighted Pakistan’s economic improvements, including reducing the current account deficit, currency globalization, record-high stock market performance, and completing the nine-month Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF. He mentioned ongoing discussions with the IMF for a longer-term program.

Furthermore, he outlined strategic initiatives to expand the tax base by targeting previously untaxed segments and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to privatize State-Owned Enterprises, starting with Pakistan International Airlines followed by major airports.
