The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has alerted to an upcoming heatwave set to commence on Tuesday, anticipated to impact several regions significantly.
As per an advisory from the NDMA, Punjab and Sindh are expected to experience severe heatwave conditions starting Thursday, lasting until the 27th of this month. The advisory underscores the likelihood of temperatures reaching hazardous levels, posing significant health risks to the populace.
Given the forecasted heatwave and its potential risks, the NDMA urges the public to take precautionary measures. They advise minimizing exposure to direct sunlight, staying hydrated, and wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing. Additionally, it’s recommended to stay indoors during peak sunlight hours to mitigate heat-related illnesses like heatstroke and dehydration.
