France Offers Technical Aid For Pakistan’s Sustainable Economic Growth

French Ambassador to Pakistan, Nicholas Galey, met Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division today.

The Finance Minister welcomed the French Ambassador and thanked the French government for its support in renewing Pakistan’s GSP Plus status. He highlighted the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy, including increased agricultural production, forex reserves reaching $9 billion, stable currency, declining inflation, and a rise in the stock market. The Minister also discussed the successful conclusion of the second IMF review and key reforms in privatization, SOEs, FBR digitization, export-led growth, and energy sector reforms. He emphasized the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council in investor facilitation.

The French Ambassador expressed optimism about future economic cooperation between Pakistan and France and offered technical cooperation for sustainable economic growth. He commended Pakistan’s progress in stabilizing the economy and expressed confidence in further collaboration.
