The Google for Education team, along with their local partner Tech Valley Pakistan, visited the office of the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, on Thursday.

The delegation comprised Paul Hutchings, Regional Head of Google for Education, Tim Paolini, Special Projects from APAC, Harris Suffian, Education Lead for Pakistan, and Umar Farooq, CEO of Tech Valley.

The discussions primarily centered around providing necessary tools for out-of-school children. Google for Education’s forthcoming initiatives aim to narrow the educational disparity by ensuring that everyone in Pakistan has access to high-quality learning resources through Google for Education’s tools and Chromebooks.

During the discussion with the delegation, the minister emphasized the government’s broader vision to transform the country into an export hub. This ambitious plan extends beyond manufacturing and includes knowledge transfer.

The government is committed to actively facilitating this transformation, with a focus on enhancing Pakistan’s export capacity in human resources, services, and technology.
