The famous ‘Gagar’ singer and actor Umair Jaswal has decided to exit the Rawalpindi Express, a biopic on Shoaib Akhtar, where he was supposed to play the part of fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.

Umair Jaswal announced the news with a Tweet from his official account that says, “Due to creative and personal reasons, I have decided to step away from the Shoaib Akhtar biopic project RAWALPINDI EXPRESS. I will no longer be associated with any media or news related to this project.”

Jaswal has not provided any further details about his decision to leave the project.

Rawalpindi Express is the first biopic about any Pakistan sports player and was set to release on November 16, 2023.

The biopic was announced by Shoaib Akhtar himself last year in July. “Rawalpindi Express,” is named after Akhtar’s nickname that he got for his fast bowling.

Shoaib Akhtar is also the record holder of the fastest delivery, 161.3 kph, in the history of cricket.
