The Moroccan Football Federation (FMRF) has filed an official complaint against the referee of their FIFA semi-final, Cesar Ramos.

Morocco has asked FIFA to review decisions made by Ramos which resulted in their 0-2 loss against the reigning champion France. The complaint reads,

“The FMRF has written to the relevant body to review the refereeing decisions that deprived the Moroccan team of two penalties that were indisputable in the view of several refereeing specialists. The FMRF was equally astonished that the video assistant referee (VAR) did not react to these situations.”

They’ve further said that they ‘strongly protest’ the performance of the referee and have stated on their website that they “will not hesitate to defend the rights of our national team, demanding fairness”.

Several other referees of the Qatar World Cup have already been criticized by the public and the players.

The referee of Argentina vs Netherlands quarterfinal match, Antonio Mateu Lahoz, was also criticized heavily for controversial call and has been reportedly sent home due to the disappointing performance.
