The final match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, likely to occur on Sunday, 13th November’2022, might be affected by rain.
To a great extent, there is a chance that both teams will be declared T20 World Cup 2022 champions in case rain happens as there is a 95% chance according to the advisory of the Australian Government’s Bureau of meteorology.
Pakistan has already made it to the finals and England made it too after defeating India.
Pakistan’s third appearance in a T20 World Cup final will take place on Sunday in Melbourne against the England.
They placed second in Johannesburg in 2007 before winning at Lord’s the following year. Only Sri Lanka has participated in all three T20 World Cup finals (2009, 2012, and 2014), with England, India, and the West Indies having each made one appearance in the past.
Three T20 World Cup matches at Melbourne’s ground MCG was postponed due to weather, but Ireland managed to shock England by defeating them in their Super 12 matchup when the match was affected by rain.
The playing rules for the T20 World Cup knockout matches allow for a reserve day, but the forecast for Monday is the same as it was for Sunday.
The reserve days will be used if the semifinals and finals are not held on the scheduled dates.
The reserve day won’t start unless at least five overs per side are feasible on the semi-final and final dates. The game would only be moved to the reserve day if the contest was not a 5-over-a-side match. Rain interruptions or other unforeseen events may lead to such a situation.
The 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal games are scheduled for November 9 and 10, respectively. The final will be happening on November 13th.
