The Supreme Court of Pakistan is all set to resume the hearing of the case against the Punjab CM Elections, with a three-member court bench, consisting of Justice Munib Akhter, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, and Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
Just hours before the hearing, the allied parties demanded a full bench preside over the case, Maryam Nawaz termed the scenario as “bench-fixing”.
Bilawal Bhutto, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chair also stated “it cannot be that three people decide the fate of this country. Three people cannot decide on whether this country will run on a democratic, elected or selected system.”
JUI-F leader Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman also shared the sentiments and stated that “Institutions interfere in political matters to protect the state, but do they ever reflect on how the state is weakened due to their interference?”
