Wednesday: Indian comedian, Raju Shrivastav dies at the age of 58 in Delhi. Srivastava had some health complications when he collapsed during a workout in August. Today, two months after he was admitted to the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), he lost his life. The news was announced by the Indian New Agency ANI and confirmed by his family too.
Although last month, it was reported by the comedian’s daughter, Antra Srivastava that his condition is stable and he is recovering slowly, “My dad’s condition is stable and continues to improve slowly. He is on the ventilator at the moment.”
She had further said to trust reliable resources for news, stating, “Only statements from AIIMS, Delhi and Raju Ji’s official social media accounts are trustworthy and genuine. Any other news or statements from anyone else is unreliable. The doctors and their entire team at AIIMS Delhi are working hard and diligently. We’re thankful to them and all his well-wishers.”
Srivastava is one of the most famous Indian comedians who had been doing stand-up comedy since the 1990s. The comic has also appeared in multiple films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Baazigar, and Maine Pyar Kiya. Currently, Raju Srivastava was serving as the chairman of the Film Development Council in Uttar Pradesh.
