Airlink Communication Ltd, a leading manufacturer, distributor, and retailer in Pakistan, was pleased to host the esteemed Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, at its advanced smartphone manufacturing facility. Airlink collaborates with global leaders Xiaomi and Tecno at this state-of-the-art facility.

During her visit, the Minister praised Airlink for its dedication to innovation and notable inclusion of women in the workforce, which currently stands at an impressive 25 to 30%.

She remarked, “I am genuinely impressed by Airlink’s technological progress and commitment to gender diversity showcased in this facility. The government acknowledges the significance of the smartphone manufacturing industry in stimulating economic growth and employment opportunities. Our aim is to offer comprehensive support to individuals and enterprises in the smartphone manufacturing sector, fostering Pakistan’s emergence as a key exporter of technology products in the years ahead.”

In response to the minister’s comments, Airlink’s Group CEO, Muzzaffar H Piracha, emphasized the company’s vision for technology transfer and its role in positioning Pakistan as a global technological center.

He expressed, “Pakistan’s smartphone industry, currently accounting for 97% of the domestic market share, holds vast potential to bolster our economy. We anticipate that smartphone exports alone could generate up to 10 billion USD in foreign exchange, further solidifying Pakistan’s global market presence. With plans to expand into Electric Vehicles (EV) and enhance the Internet of Things (IoT) product landscape in Pakistan, we envision a future where our technological innovations not only satisfy local demand but also drive substantial foreign exchange earnings through exports.”

Airlink has made investments in a Xiaomi LED production facility, with production slated to commence in the upcoming months. Through strategic alliances and unwavering dedication to quality, Airlink remains at the forefront of advancement, empowering communities through technology.
