The federal government is working diligently to unlock $1.3 billion in financing from the $10 billion pledged at the Geneva Donors Conference in January 2023, according to high-level sources. This amount includes $1 billion for project financing and an additional $300 million in funding.
The Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Economic Affairs have finalized plans to access these funds, which will be allocated for flood recovery, rehabilitation, and construction projects. So far, Pakistan has received $3 billion from the conference and aims to secure up to $10 billion by 2027. The funds will support flood-affected areas through provincial and federal authorities.
The financing will come from international organizations such as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
