The world is seeing a lot of back-to-back volcanic eruptions lately.
Yesterday, 4th December, it was Indonesia where Mount Semeru, the highest volcano in Indonesia, unleashed lava. The volcano is located on the island of Java where 2,000 people were evacuated from near the damage point.
Last month, on the 9th of October, one of the world’s most active volcanoes Stromboli, in Sicily, Italy, also erupted again. Stromboli has been regularly erupting since 1932. The eruption also caused a mini tsunami.
On 24th July, 2022, Japan also faced a volcanic eruption when Sakurajima Volcano erupted again causing ash and smoke over the island.
Sakurajima, located on the island of Kyushu, is Japan’s most active volcanos and has been erupting repeatedly however, the island has now become a peninsula after the eruption killed 58 people in 1914.
