The Hollywood heartthrob and daredevil, Tom Cruise, surprised his fan by pulling off another life-threatening stunt to promote the next edition of his highly acclaimed Mission Impossible series.
A behind-the-scenes video of the Top Gun Maverick star made its way online. The video shows Tom standing without a harness on a moving aircraft as it flew over a gorge in South Africa. The spy thriller star can be seen using one hand to hold the aircraft as he calmly addresses his fans. The actor is calmly encouraging audiences to attend the upcoming movie in theatres while standing on a biplane that is maneuvering in midair.
The stunt was originally filmed for CinemaCon attendees in Las Vegas in April.
“Hey everyone! Wish I could be there with you,” Cruise says to the camera mid-flight. “I’m sorry about the extra noise. As you can see, we’re filming the latest installment of Mission: Impossible right now. And right now we’re over the gorgeous Blyde River Canyon in stunning South Africa. And we’re making this film for the big screen, for the audiences to see in your wonderful theaters.”
Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the movie, can also make an appearance in the video, flying his another biplane as he pulls up beside Cruise’s craft to say they are “losing the light” and need to go back to filming.
