Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has called for a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet today (Tuesday) with 18 agenda items.
Under the chairmanship of the finance minister, the ECC meeting will address the Ministry of Defence Production’s request for approval of a technical supplementary grant (TSG) of Rs. 200 million and a TSG of Rs. 5,898.287 million for the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority.
Additionally, the ECC will review the Finance Division’s proposal concerning the rupee cover for the World Bank Funded Financial Inclusion and Infrastructure Project (FIIP) via TSG, along with granting a special relief package for daily wage workers at the Chaman Border.
The ECC is expected to approve various proposals, including additional funds for the repair and maintenance of public buildings in Islamabad by the Ministry of Housing & Works, urea fertilizer requirements for Kharif 2024 by the Ministry of Industries and Production, and disbursement of salaries for PSM employees for the financial year 2023-24.
Additionally, the meeting will address the IT ministry’s proposal for revising the advisory committee’s composition on IMT Spectrum release, Ministry of Interior’s proposals regarding TSG for FATA TDP-ERP Project NADRA, and maintenance fund release for deployment in the UN Mission.
Other agenda items include increasing the wheat procurement target for PASSCO, recoupment of funds deposited by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), release of advance subsidy and arrears for K-Electric and AJK-TDS, and approval of a TSG for the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission.
