In an effort to increase access to high-quality education, TikTok and Edtech’s firm Edkasa have unveiled a grant program that will provide online study scholarships to 18,000 outstanding students from throughout Pakistan. The initiative builds on the success of their #ExamReady campaign, which they began last year.
To develop a digital learning program that would enable online education and distance learning for high school students, TikTok teamed up with Edkasa and LUMS in September for groundbreaking year-long cooperation.
Over 500 instructional films covering Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics are available online as part of the #ExamReady initiative, which aims to assist millions of Pakistani students. These videos also include study advice and exam-related hacks.
Since their release, the instructional videos have had over 665 million views and about 100 million video contributions from Pakistani students using TikTok.
By collaborating with LUMS, one of Pakistan’s top universities, the two will strengthen their relationship by giving students access to two months of free Edkasa study materials as well as a test pack for the grade, board, or exam of their choice.
The Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Pakistan, and South Asia (METAPSA) region of TikTok, according to Farah Tukan, Head of Government Relations & Public Policy: “TikTok is a platform that delivers different content across many categories, and education remains a crucial vertical for us.
