On Tuesday, the federal government declared a decrease in the prices of petroleum products.
As per a notification released by the finance ministry, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 5.45 per liter to Rs. 288.49, and the price of high-speed diesel has been lowered by Rs. 8.42 per liter to Rs. 281.96. These revised prices will come into effect from May 1.
The finance ministry briefly mentioned that international market trends have shown a decline in petroleum product prices over the past two weeks. Consequently, the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has adjusted the consumer prices accordingly.
During the previous biweekly assessment of petroleum prices, there was an increment of Rs. 4.53 per liter in petrol prices and Rs. 8.14 per liter in high-speed diesel prices.
