Sindh Government received heavy criticism from the various political parties for their decision to station policemen and private security guards in Karachi from other cities of Sindh.
As the local body elections start nearing, political tension is on the rise in the region. Engr Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman from Jamaat-e-Islami (J) rejected the idea and has demanded the government position rangers and army at the polling stations as per Article 245 of the Constitution.
Syed Mustafa Kamal, Chairman of Pak Sarzameen Party stated “They are not police but workers of PPP” while criticizing the idea of appointing private security guards. Mustafa Kamal further said that the Sindh Government is calling police from other areas to right the elections in Hyderabad and Karachi.
