Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that all public and private schools will commence their summer holidays early due to the ongoing heatwave. The holidays will start on May 25 and will last until May 31.
The decision to start summer holidays early received overwhelming support from parents, with 96% endorsing the government’s move to protect children from the severe heatwave.
In a video message, Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized the importance of prioritizing student health and safety amid the ongoing heatwave. He highlighted that 96% of parents supported the decision to start summer vacations this week.
“The wellbeing of our students is our top priority. Given the extreme temperatures, it is crucial to take preventive measures to ensure their safety,” he stated.
Schools conducting exams have been granted conditional permission to remain open exclusively for exams, provided they take the necessary precautions.
