Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Fawad Chaudhry says Gill’s remarks are not reflective of the party’s stance.
A court in Islamabad granted a two-day physical remand of senior PTI leader Shahbaz Gill to the police after Gill was charged with inciting hatred against Pakistan Army on a private TV channel.
Following the ordeal, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seems to be distancing itself from Shahbaz Gill’s remarks.
PTI Senior Leader Fawad Chaudhry stated that Gill’s narrative was “not the party’s stance” and added that “every person has their own opinion”. However, he added that “Shahbaz Gill should be forgiven after withdrawing his statement”.
“Those who know him [Gill] personally, know him to be a patriot,” said Chaudhry and also insisted that PTI is a party with a “pro-Pakistan policy”.
PTI chief Iran Khan had claimed that a “conspiracy” was being hatched to pit his party against the military. Shahbaz Gill is to be presented in court this Friday.
Last night the pictures of Shahbaz Gill in jail went viral and people had a lot to say about the PTI leader.
