A Chinese citizen was rescued by Pakistani fishermen off the Karachi coast.

On Wednesday, a group of Pakistani fishermen saved the life of an abandoned man, a Chinese citizen, who they found floating in the Arabian Sea near the Karachi coast.

The fishermen on board were on a fishing expedition when they spotted a bright orange object floating near the creek areas of the city around 9:30 am.

The fishermen used their binoculars and discovered it was actually a person floating in the sea wearing a life jacket.

The boat captain, Nakhuda and Haji Abdullah decided to rescue the person and turned the direction of the boat to save the man from the water. After rescuing him, the fishermen gave him a blanket and juice to keep warm and get some energy.

Kamal Shah from Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) stated, “He looked Chinese and what he was saying, though he couldn’t talk much, also sounded like Chinese.”

According to PFF, it looks like the man had been trying to keep himself afloat since Tuesday night.

The man was handed over to the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.
