With Men’s T20 World Cup ahead, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the schedule for warm-up fixtures for all 16 teams.
Pakistan will play its first warm-up match against England on 17 October and its second one against Afghanistan on 19 October. Both matches will be played at the Gabba, Brisbane.
The match, although a warm-up fixture, that will not carry official T20 International status, will be interesting to watch after the last night’s match of the Asia Cup between Pakistan and Afghanistan was full of nerves and tension. Pakistan beat Afghanistan as Naseem Shah gave off two sixes in the last over that took Pakistan to the final of the Asia Cup 2022.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be starting in October and all the matches will be held in Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia.
The First round of teams will play their warm-up fixtures between October 10 and 13 held in the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Junction Oval. The teams that qualify to play the Super 12 round directly will play their warm-up games in Brisbane on October 17 and 19.
The reigning champion and host, Australia will play the first and only warm-up game against India on October 17 at The Gabba.
