In aid of UNICEF’s Pakistan Floods Appeal and the Pakistan Environment Trust, Jemima Goldsmith, the ex-wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and her brother Ben Goldsmith has raised more than £150,000 for flood-affected Pakistanis.
More than 100 notable Pakistani and Indian personalities attended the charity dinner that the siblings hosted last night in the center of London.
Aside from the novelist Fatima Bhutto and the British broadcasters Noreen Khan and Sam Naz, the event also featured the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, the overseas investment adviser for Pakistan, Zeeshan Shah, and Adam Thomson, a former high commissioner of the UK to Pakistan.
33 million people were affected by the floods in Pakistan, and more than 7.9 million people were left homeless, according to Jemima
Jemima said that in her capacity as a UNICEF ambassador, she was contributing to the drive to raise vital funds for the benefit of the children and families affected by this tragedy.
She remarked, “My brother Ben founded the Pakistan Environment Trust to tackle climate change in a country dealing with some of the most challenging effects of global environmental calamity.
According to her, the Pakistan Environment Trust and UNICEF’s Pakistan Floods Appeal would both benefit from the money gathered during the event.
