Lahore Braces for Surge in Dengue Mosquitoes

The onset of the rainy season in Lahore has led to a spike in dengue mosquitoes. In the past 24 hours, dengue larvae have been discovered at over a thousand locations across the city. Dengue surveillance teams are working diligently to eliminate larvae at various sites to prevent the spread of the disease. Reports indicate that larvae have been found at 1,132 sites throughout Lahore.

In the past 24 hours, surveillance teams have issued 1,074 notices for breaches of dengue SOPs and filed 58 cases for serious violations. Lahore Deputy Commissioner Raafia Haider commended the efforts of the dengue surveillance teams, noting that 603 cases have been filed this year for SOP breaches. She assured the public that the teams are actively addressing the increased risk of mosquito breeding during the rainy season.

The local government is urging residents to follow dengue prevention guidelines closely and cooperate with surveillance teams to help control the spread of dengue fever in the community.
