Karachi has recorded over 100 cases of heat stroke in the past 10 days.
As per Dawn News, Dr. Irfan Siddiqui, the head heat stroke doctor, stated that Jinnah Hospital Karachi has recorded 80 cases in the last 10 days, while Civil Hospital Karachi has reported over 50 cases during the same period.

Notably, in response to the intense heat prevailing across Pakistan, including Sindh, the Meteorological Department issued a heat wave alert on May 19. This alert forecasted a heat wave in most regions of the country from May 21 to 27, subsequently resulting in a disaster. The Management Authority Sindh also issued an advisory outlining safety measures.
According to the advisory, daytime temperatures are expected to range between 35 to 40 degrees Celsius from May 21 to 23, with temperatures potentially reaching 45 degrees Celsius from May 23 to 27.
