K-Electric has submitted a provisional monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) request to NEPRA for July 2023 to March 2024.

KE has submitted three scenarios for FCA calculation to NEPRA, seeking approval for one to ensure timely cost recovery and avoid additional adjustments for customers.

Scenario one proposes using the actual fuel cost minus the reference monthly fuel cost, resulting in a net FCA request of Rs. 12.94 for nine months.

Scenario two suggests considering the difference based on KE’s tariff petition, with a net FCA request of Rs. 18.55.

Scenario three proposes using the difference between actual fuel cost and annual weighted average fuel reference costs, with a net FCA request of Rs. 16.9 for nine months.

NEPRA will hold a hearing on May 9 to address the matter.
