The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has commenced the enrollment process for the free virtual classes offered on Coursera as part of the Digital Learning and Skills Enhancement Initiative (DLSEI).
In order to help Pakistani students develop new skills, the HEC is working with Coursera, a US-based virtual learning platform, to offer digital training as part of the DLSEI initiative.
Students and graduates can enroll in more than 6,000 eLearning courses in a variety of subjects, including management, computer programming, information systems, machine learning, language learning, biological sciences, and professional development. The deadline for registration is January 20.
About 100 Coursera partners, including Yale University, Duke University, Imperial College London, and John Hopkins University, contributed to the creation of these online courses. Other partners include IBM, Intel, Google, and IBM.
Registered participants can also get a certificate upon successful completion of the course, which they can use as evidence to employers that they are knowledgeable about modern tools and abilities required for a globally competitive job.
