The video of the assault on the medical student caused an uproar on Twitter as citizens demand justice.
A video went viral on Twitter yesterday which caused an uproar. An influential businessman, Sheikh Danish Ali, who runs a lucrative textile business in Faisalabad, along with Maham, a classmate of the victim, and at least five other men allegedly abducted, tortured, and sexually assaulted a medical student.
Police took action against six suspects after footage of the victim being attacked and humiliated spread like wildfire on social media. It can be seen in the video that Khadija Mehmood is being humiliated and thrashed. The video is filmed at the upscale residence of the abuser in Paradise Valley.
A case has been lodged against Danish Ali, and his daughter Ana Ali, who is a classmate of the victim. According to the FIR, Danish and his daughter, along with a group of men, broke into Khadija’s home and kidnapped her and her brother. They also stole valuables including Khadija’s iPhone 13 Pro Max, gold bangles, and Rs. 500,000.
According to the police report that Khadija filed, that she was Ana’s friend and often visited her home. Danish Ali develops feelings for Khadija and asked his daughter to send her a marriage proposal. Khadija rejected his proposal after which Ana began sending her death threats. Upon receiving these threats, Khadija cut off all contact with Danish and his family.
The video shows Danish, his daughter, and other members of the household cutting Khadija’s hair, making her lick their shoes while hurling extreme verbal abuses at her. The abusers filmed the entire video themselves and later uploaded it on social media.
Khadija has also stated that she was forced to perform a sex act on Danish which he also recorded on his phone.
