Former President and co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Zardari has said that Bilawal will not leave the flood-affected people alone.
“If my health allowed, I would have been with the victims,” Zardari said in a statement saying that the floods and rain situation is very painful.
The Ex-President also demanded that the government of Pakistan should help the poor by mobilizing Baitul Mal and expanding the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in every possible way.
“This is the time to serve the public” he further added. Asif Zardari also directed the ministers and members of PPP to stay with the people of the constituencies. He said that the government will take responsibility for the rehabilitation of the victims.
He also said that the government would provide all necessities such as tents and food and arrangements have been made at government buildings, colleges, and schools for temporary shelters.
The next process would be the rehabilitation of the affected areas, the houses of the victims, and the infrastructure of flood-hit areas will have to be rebuilt, said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
