Deferrals Of University Fees for The Students from Flood-Affected Areas By HEC

The Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed announced deferrals for two current semesters and any due fees to the students who belong to flood-affected areas. According to the reports, these deferrals will be given to flood-affected students from all public as well private universities.

The Chairman of HEC said that all public and private universities and especially the medical universities are assisting and taking care of the affected livestock and flood-hit regions. He also stated that a plan for rehabilitation of the universities in these flood-affected areas is also underway. 

Federal Education Minister, Rana Tanveer Hussain has previously ordered the HEC chairman to introduce scholarships for the students of flood-affected areas. These scholarships will be given to the flood-affected students who are enrolled or wants to enroll in any of the undergraduate or graduate programs. 

The Chairman of Higher Education also stated that the Federal Government is fully committed to supporting the flood-affected people and rehabilitation the infrastructure of the areas that have been damaged by the heavy flooding.
