According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the archeological remains of the Mohenjo-Daro remained undamaged after the devastating monsoon rains.

The heavy rainfall, which has damaged and destroyed the houses and infrastructure in many civilized cities of Pakistan, did not affect the remains of the city built thousands of years ago.

The officials of the Sustainable architecture of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site were also surprised by this incident.

They are wondering how the devastating floods did not have any effect on the structure which was built centuries ago.

Ejaz Tonio, the head of a PMD sub-office at the centuries-old Mohenjo-Daro claimed that even though the heavy flooding damaged his office and the airport, the floodwater did not even reach and affect the lower level of the archeological remains of the Mohenjo-Daro.
