UN Special Envoy Angelina Jolie to Visit Pakistan’s Flood-Affected Areas

Media reports say the academy award winner and well-known actress of Hollywood “Angelina Jolie” will visit the areas in Pakistan, which were affected, by the flood.

Angelina Jolie is a Special Envoy for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).  She will be visiting the flood-affected areas to show support and solidarity with the victims of the flood. Jolie will visit the areas that were affected by heavy flooding. She will see the loss in these areas and will report to United Nations about the growth of these areas. She will also assist in flood relief camps for providing relief work to the flood victims.

Since Angelina joined the United Nations, she has visited Pakistan several times for providing assistance to flood victims.

Jolie has already applied for a visa according to the sources.

Around USD 18 billion amount of destruction has been caused by the heavy flooding in Pakistan.  Millions of people had to leave their homes and crops as around 8 million acres of land were wiped out by the devastating flood.
