The federal cabinet approved the restriction on using the term “national,” requiring its omission from the names of all privately owned establishments, including educational institutions.
Following the declaration of a new university’s establishment, the federal cabinet approved, and all ministries and organizations were duly informed per the prime minister’s instructions.
Official sources reveal that relevant ministries and departments have received instructions to immediately stop using the term “national” in the names of companies and institutions. Private universities and companies are prohibited from using language or expressions that could imply association with a government entity.
The Cabinet Division has requested all ministries and institutions to submit reports outlining the execution of this directive.
It emerged that the prime minister had received complaints regarding the use of the term “national” in the names of private establishments and universities. This practice was deemed to create confusion among both domestic and foreign individuals, both Pakistani and non-Pakistani, within the country and abroad.
