In March 2024, Pakistan’s imports from the US amounted to $87.3 million, marking a 50 percent decrease from the $174.7 million recorded in the corresponding month of the previous year.
According to data obtained by ProPakistani, during July-March FY24, Pakistan’s imports from the US amounted to $933.6 million, reflecting a 44 percent decrease compared to imports totaling $1.68 billion reported in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Conversely, Pakistan’s exports to the US experienced a 2 percent increase to $430 million, compared to exports of $421 million reported in the corresponding month of FY23. Throughout July-March FY24, the country’s exports to the US totaled $3.89 billion, down 2.5 percent compared to exports of $3.99 billion recorded in the same period of FY23.
On a year-on-year (YoY) basis, the country’s exports saw a 7.99 percent increase, reaching $2.555 billion in March 2024 compared to $2.366 billion in March 2023. Meanwhile, imports surged by 25.86 percent on a YoY basis, totaling $4.726 billion in March 2024 compared to $3.755 billion in March 2023.
