In March 2024, Pakistan’s imports from Iran amounted to $95.6 million, marking a 25 percent increase compared to March 2023, when imports totaled $76.4 million.
Sources indicate that Pakistan’s imports from Iran reached $86.1 million in February 2024, showing an 11 percent increase in March 2024.
In the first nine months of the current fiscal year (9MFY24), imports from Iran totaled $773 million, compared to $669 million recorded in the same period of FY23.
Sources from the Ministry of Commerce highlighted that Pakistan’s imports from Iran over the last three fiscal years amounted to $2.17 billion.
In a recent development, Pakistan and Iran pledged to elevate their annual trade volume to $10 billion within the next five years. This commitment emerged during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, who is on a three-day visit to Pakistan.
