Particularly concerning is the unavailability of Computer and Chemistry textbooks for 9th-class students in the market, causing hardship for both parents and students in acquiring them.
Throughout the ongoing year, students have turned to using notebooks to fulfill their coursework and exam preparation needs because of the lack of availability of textbooks in the market. Both students and parents have urged the Sindh education department to guarantee the prompt availability of textbooks.
The ongoing scarcity of books ahead of the commencement of the new academic year has caused frustration among schoolchildren and their parents in the province.
On April 2nd, 2024, Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah instructed authorities to ensure the timely distribution of textbooks to over nine million children enrolled in more than 50,000 government and private schools throughout the province.
