Monday: PTI rejects LG poll results in Karachi and Hyderabad while JI decries delay in results but has expressed willingness to form an alliance if required.
Jamat-e-Islami’s senior leader and chief Karachi, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, talked about the delay in results even after 20 hours. Hafiz ur Rehman, who is running for the city’s mayor office also said,
“We are not getting the results from the returning officers (RO) despite over 18 hours of delay since the conclusion of polling.”
While condemning the delay, Rehman called out on the concerned authorities to stop the ROs who are “trying to change the results”.
He also said that over 30 voter lists were allegedly flawed but still, a large number of people came out to vote.
Rehman also said that a lot of people from the PPP have also voted for Jamat-e-Islami. He added that while there is ambiguity on the rest of the seats, however, JI has won over 100 seats.
“We contested these elections after hard work and wherever there is a discrepancy, we will expose it,” he said.
Rehman has also said that results in some UCs have been forcibly changed/altered.
