Thousands of Lahore matriculates and intermediate students’ futures are in jeopardy since they failed the yearly exams.

34% of pupils reportedly failed their matric examinations, while 23% failed their inter exams. 20,000 students will thus be unable to continue with their academic studies.

In order to help the students, the yearly matric and inter examinations were held under a special Coronavirus policy during the past few years.

Separately, students from Karachi’s 25 public institutions or its 13 private colleges failed to earn a passing score on the yearly inter examinations.

Because of this, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) suspended the registration of these colleges and reprimanded their directors for turning out subpar work.

Education specialists, meanwhile, claim that the Covid epidemic is to blame for the widespread failure of students in intermediate examinations.

Students were promoted in 2020 amid shutdown without taking examinations. Additionally, matriculates and intermediate students had to pass mandatory subjects such as Urdu, English, Islamiat, and Pakistan Studies in 2021 but were only obliged to appear in optional subjects.

The students who passed in 2020, known as the “Covid pass,” had to take genuine tests in 2022, which may have contributed to the high rate of failures.
