The PTI president said that the party would dissolve the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies on December, 23 to uphold his demand for free and fair elections.

The determination to “give up” the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies was formed after consultations with lawyers, CMs, and senior party leadership, according to the former prime minister, who delivered his speech via video link alongside Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Mehmood Khan.

Elections will be held in the provinces following the dissolution of both assemblies. Additionally, our 123-125 National Assembly members, whose resignations have not been accepted, would ask the assembly’s speaker to do so, he added.

The ex-premier anticipated that following these changes, up to 66% of Pakistan will move toward polls. As stipulated by the legislation, elections must be conducted within 90 days of the dissolution of the assemblies.

His party would instantly start its election campaign after honoring both chief ministers for “sacrificing” their respective governments for the “betterment of the country.”

“I have also spoken to my lawyers, it would be against the regulations to delay the polls past 90 days,” ex-premier added, warning the government against using techniques to prolong the elections.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and the PTI allegedly had differences on the timing of the dissolution before to this announcement, but the chief minister denied the allegations and pledged to embrace “all of Imran Khan’s choices.”
