In order to ascertain the influence and utility of 5G telecom services in Pakistani society, the “innovation lab” is a project supported by Jazz, the largest telecom operator in the nation, and Huawei Technologies.
The innovation lab’s goal is to assess 5G’s usefulness from a social-economic perspective and introduce homegrown solutions for transportation, health, education, and business that are appropriate for the region.
It was emphasized that the project will assist researchers in working on prospective use cases for 5G in the disciplines of artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality, and virtual reality by utilizing its high bandwidth, low latency, and advanced security.
The healthcare business, manufacturing and service industries, agriculture, security, disaster management, entertainment, and the public sector will all benefit from the findings and research.
The 5G Innovation Lab was officially opened by the Federal Secretary for Information Technology and Telecom, Mohsin Mushtaq. He added, “The lab will play a crucial role in helping us develop an ecosystem to investigate 5G-enabled use cases of IT and telecom technologies in diverse sectors.”
The speakers emphasized that, in contrast to 4G, 5G usage was not just restricted to data and phones but also had a wider application as a catalyst for the digitization of other industries.
