In a shocking turn of events, HIV has reached a high number in Islamabad as 519 cases of the virus were reported between January and October this year.
The majority of people who were found to be suffering from the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) were homosexual men.
The cases were mostly from young men who were 15 to 25 years old and were involved in sexual activities with other men or with transgenders.
According to some sources, a total of 519 HIV cases have been registered at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad.
Federal Health Ministry also reported that 45% of the registered cases were of young and educated men who identify themselves as homosexuals.
A treatment center for HIV has been set up in Polyclinic Hospital Islamabad as the cases continue to rise at an alarming rate.
